Fourth Quarter Need/Wish Dust Off ~ 03 Oct 2021

This morning, Dennis Taylor, a photographer in the Phoenix area (do check out his work: www.shuttervita.com) sent me a photo of a full moon. What a shot! It appears the tree in the foreground subsequently lifts the Moon in gentle embrace to receive the last solar light of the day while it dusts the intricate nooks and crannies of the lunar body.

Given the Sun represents conscious awareness of any circumstance and the Moon defines a person’s bottom line emotional needs, what better time to consider the contrast between what is needed and what is wanted than on the verge of Pluto going direct in Capricorn and Venus migrating out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius? Pluto offers in his deep, vibrating underworldly voice, “You know can’t live without it,” while Venus has been urging throwing caution to the wind by whispering, “You know you want it... you really do.” Curiously the Venus in Scorpio tenure has been one of many uttering their deepest creative goals and aspirations with verbal italics, bolding and underlining, yet despite those proclamations, many have hesitated engaged in robust activities to manifest those desires.

Venus in Scorpio and Pluto in general when stating what they ardently desire unconsciously receive extra scrutiny by emotional caution and practicality sensors. A person’s system of checks and balances kicks in and ironically applies the inquisitive and probing nature of Scorpio and Pluto, which might actually impede a pilgrim’s progress. Ponderous questions arise, like: What’s going happen to the life you know if you go out and get this or that - the stuff you really want?

Truly, there’s no earthly way of pre-perceiving the emotional impact of attaining the desires you seek. It must be received to be perceived.

On 6 October Pluto turns direct in Capricorn. On 7 October Venus departs Scorpio stamping her passport for presumably friendlier travels in Sagittarius. It does not appear to be a cosmic coincidence these two do as they do this week. Before you know it, Venus enters Capricorn where she will take on her very rare attribute of a stint of retrograde motion and in the process she will directly align with Pluto three times.

Venus retrogrades from 19 December through 29 January. The set up conjunction of Venus to Pluto lines up on 11 December. The retrograde conjunction occurs on 24 December. Finally, Venus and Pluto align on 3 March 2022, the day after Mars in Capricorn conjoins his comrade co-ruler of Scorpio, Pluto. A trinity of desire, fervent action and soulful fulfillment in the substantive sign of Capricorn as the third month of next year rolls about? It’s almost as if the cosmos conspires to provide healthy helpings of what one desires... given all that was pursued with full intent and well-directed action.

Consider the waning moments of this year marked by Jupiter departing Aquarius and entering Pisces which fervently feeds fantastical whims, thoughts and projections, When this sign shift occurs, Venus and Pluto tantalizingly tango.

Following Wednesday’s ingress Venus remains in Sagittarius into the first few days of November. As Venus departs Scorpio in early October, the other personal planet that brackets Earth, Mars, enters Scorpio on the last day of the month. Another not so coincidental set of cosmic patterns. Could the trick or treat of 2021 manifest as wants fully pursued by action?

With Venus in Scorpio she aroused feelings deep within about what you really, really, really want. What can be done with Venus in Sag as homework for her three scheduled rendezvous with Pluto? First, consider the lunar placement in your horoscope and ask “what do you need?” What provides for your physical stability in life while soothing your emotional requirements for fulfillment? How can you make it work such that the real world requirements do not suffer from your pursuit of the things that make this incarnation count in the fullest. Next, turn up the heat on Venus as she saunters through fire sign Sagittarius.

No sign can create a rationale or justification better than Sagittarius. So, you’re emotionally coping with what you ardently desire as the Venus in Scorpio romp concludes. The next step is to make it work on the mental level. With Sag run it through all those mnemonic devises that prioritize and make things rationally important and seem beyond being excusable as idle or whimsical. Do you best “pro/con” lists then throw them away when they do not support your wishes. Return to the Moon. Know that pursuit of what you desire does not need to be in conflict with your needs. Sort through the reasons. Work out the logic. Make it make sense.

Then, as Mars enters Scorpio at the end of this month, kick it in high gear. Motivate yourself to do everything in your power to make it happen. As Venus and Pluto align the first time in December, gather the low-hanging fruit. As Venus turns about and aligns with Pluto in the thick of the holiday season, pause to savor the emotional and soul-shaking satisfaction of what you’ve been able to gather. Use this to gather the gumption to get the going going as the new year rolls around. Make these reasons part of the Jupiter sign shift inspired New Year’s resolutions. Then pursue the first quarter of 2022 as if you have no holiday hangover... or hangover from 2020.

Some might view all this through more logical lenses to offset the cosmic supercharge. Sure this is the collective stuff happening above. It’s not specifically to an individual’s horoscope. True, that, however, every individual horoscope is having some transit effect in the moment. And there’s nothing more contagious than the emotional fervor of Scorpio. There’s no better way than to get caught up Venus and Mars in Scorpio to prep for the trinity of temptations provided by the upcoming alignments of Venus to Pluto.

It comes back to the Moon. What do you need, not want, to soar in this incarnation? Dare you feel supported by the transits at hand? Dare you capture every insight of solar inspiration for clarity and to refine intention of pursuit? Dare you reflect on every nook and cranny of those fascinating lunar craters? Yes! It is a time to dare and do... a time of derring-do.

More soon.
